Mumbai, the commerce capital of India, is in fact, the capital city of one of the most prosperous Indian states of Maharastra. Mumbai has perennially been a glitzy and swanky modern town with full of vibrancy and charm all around. Formerly as Bombay, it is a key metropolitan town of India besides being the trade capital of India. Some remarkable visages, beaches, food monuments, nightlife, clubs etc make it truly a global city.
The Buildings establish its relationships with the British, and Indo-Saracen style is apparent in the way of architecture. Forts, caves and palaces offer a unique prospect into the past. The Gateway of India, the most renowned historic milestone of Mumbai, still reminds its ever being of the entrance into this commerce city.
The sites of historic importance like the Flora Fountain, Marble Palace, The Elephanta Caves St. George's Fort, Vasai Fort and Rajabhai Clock Tower give Mumbai a different feel and charm. Museums, art galleries and libraries are there in a good number to further make it a tourists’ delight. The biggest strength of Mumbai is diversity and cosmopolitan nature which has resulted through the residing of people of an assortment of religions.
The places like Haji Ali Mosque, The Mahalaxmi Temple, Banganga, Mumbadevi Temple, Jain Templeand St. Thomas Cathedral fill an aura of religiosity and unity among the people. Besides religious spots, the location of being on the shoreline of Arabian Sea, this extremely vibrant city prides for striking beaches with the sun, sand and sea for unlimited fun and frolic. Chowpatty and Juhu are pioneer among the beaches with hordes of crowd thronging there. Madh Island and Gorai Beach also attract a good number of tourists.
Last but not the least; of course, Mumbai won’t be complete unless a description of Bollywood, the Hindi Film Industry with thousands of film every year, is made. In the last four decades or so, Mumbai has significantly improved and registered an unprecedented growth in terms of film production, as it prides for its status of being the movie land of India.
