Goa

Goa, a tiny Indian state is divided into north and south zones with Panjim as the capital, is the hottest tourist destination situated in the west coast of India. Goa delights travellers with its spotless beaches, gleaming white-washed houses and good-natured, easy-going people. The Sun, sand, sea, conspicuous flora and fauna, lush green hinterland thrill and peace are some of the traits that set Goa apart from rest of India. Goa is always in the mood of celebrations, feasts and festivals immensely feature in the calendar of state, and rightly is the best place to party, relax, sunbathe, and enjoy. 

The shoreline stretched over miles, numerous river streams and the ponds produce the most amazing variety of fishes and other sea food. Goa offers the most amazing culinary delights varying from delicious sea food like squid, lobster, prawns and kingfish. Also try the lip smacking desserts and fresh fruit juices available in almost all the shacks. For those high on liquor, Goan wine besides the regular alcohol is a great option. Feni, an alcohol produced only in Goa from the coconut and cashew tree would be tempting.

The churches in Goa have their own charm and are absolutely peaceful and have religious significance.  Besides the scenery, you get first-hand experience to see the Indo-European architecture and cultural influences. The churches in Old Goa and Panjim have a charm of its own, both for religious significance and beauty. The famous Basilica of Bom Jesus is located 10 km east Panaji, is considered as one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in India. Other famous churches are the mausoleum of St. Xavier, Se' Cathedral, the Church and Convent of St. Francis of Assisi, Church of Lady of Rosary; Church of St. Augustine. Some of the temples of Goa include Sri Mangesh Temple, Shri Ananta Temple and Shanta Durga temple etc.


Goa Beaches

Beaches are the most significant aspect of tourism in Goa. The 125 kilometers of Goan coastline is dotted with numerous palm-fringed sandy beaches which offer the perfect destination for a romantic honeymoon or an ideal vacation. Goa in the west coast of India is a holidaymaker's paradise. Goa Carnival

Goa’s most colourful and popular festival Goa Carnival is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year. This three day extravaganza of fun, frolic, amusement and merry-making takes place in the month of February. Though essentially a Christian festival, all people of Goa, irrespective of their faith and religion take part in this festival. The word Carnival has been derived from the Latin word "Carnavale" which means to throw away meat. The main highlight of Goan carnival is to have fun by indulging in singing, dancing, feasting, etc. before the 40 day abstinence period of Lent before Easter. ...
